Steam Next Fest 2026 is here, and I’ve spent the last hour scanning the JRPG section.
Last time I checked, there were more than 80 entries across action RPG, traditional, and adult titles.
I’m not interested in listing every JRPG at Steam Next Fest. Most of you can scroll the tags yourself.
What I care about is highlighting the titles that feel distinct, whether that’s in mechanics, art direction, cultural voice, or execution.
So, I went through all of the JRPGs on Steam Next Fest 2026, and I bring to you my three favorites to check out:
Alabaster Dawn
Developer: Radical Fish Games
Break Nyx’s curse and guide humanity’s rebirth in this top-down 2.5D Action RPG from the creators of CrossCode. Battle enemies with stylish combos, wield multiple divine weapons, solve intriguing puzzles and explore a changing world.
Why I Picked This One: What more can I say? This game brings beautiful maps, battle animations, and a story-driven narrative all to the center. It’s the most polished game I’ve seen from the library.
Emery Hearts
Developer: Indie Dev Hell
Step into the shoes of Lug, an ordinary boy with the power to shape the fate of humans and machines in a world on the brink. A retro-inspired action JRPG where you explore a vibrant voxel world, battle deadly mechanoids, solve puzzles, and uncover a story of legacy, mystery, and heart.
Why I Picked This One: This one takes me back to PSX. It looks like a fun action RPG + exploration game. The demo looks simple enough for folks who don’t want to grind, but challenging enough to keep you coming back for more.
Dosa Divas
Developer: Outerloop Games
Battle an evil fast food empire in this spicy narrative turn-based RPG. Two sisters and their upgradable spirit-mech cook delicious meals, fight corpos, build up your reputation with local communities, and reconcile with loved ones.
Why I Picked This One: What in the hell? And, I mean that in a good way. This is easily the most unique JRPG I’ve seen in a while. The art is gorgeous, and the story is hilarious but intriguing. This has some serious potential.

Dante is Editor-in-Chief (Lord Hokage), which means he runs editorial and operations at BrandAnime. That means this whole thing was his idea, and he spends his time making stuff work and covering the latest anime and games. When he's not doing 100 things at once, he's usually... watching anime or playing games. His life isn't that interesting, honestly.
