Operation Stronghold Defense Event Guide | Genshin Impact

A new event has arrived in Genshin Impact Luna V called Operation Stronghold Defense. It is a tower defense event, where Travelers will set up ‘defense unit’ and upgrade them to defeat the incoming enemies before they can reach the final destination. This guide will help you complete the Operation Stronghold Defense event with the easiest strategy in Genshin Impact.

Operation Stronghold Defense Event Guide

Note: For each image that will be used in the following guides, I will be using red and green circles.
– Red circle indicates a placement of a mechanism
– Green circle indicates an upgrade of a mechanism

Stage 1 – First Battle! Support From a Warmhearted Weasel

1. In the first wave, place an Energy Turret with Pyro Elemental Infusion in the marked spot above.
2. In addition, place Trap Mechanism with Hydro Elemental Infusion on the right side of the Energy Turret.
3. Start the challenge and wait until 6 Hilichurls spawns before you use the Pyro Support Skill on all of them.
4. Afterwards, just wait until wave 1 completed.

1. In the second wave, upgrade the first Energy Turret with Fire Intensity Mechanism Enhancement.
2. Next, place a second Energy Turret with Pyro Elemental Infusion right above it.
3. Engage now and wait until wave 2 is completed.

1. In the third wave, place a third Energy Turret with Pyro Elemental Infusion on the bottom lane on the right side.
2. Upgrade the new Energy Turret with Fire Intensity Mechanism Enhancement.
3. Place a new Trap Mechanism with Cryo Elemental Infusion on the left of the third Energy Turret.
4. Engage now and wait until wave 3 is completed.

1. In the fourth wave, upgrade the second Energy Turret with Fire Intensity Mechanism Enhancement.
2. Next, place a fourth Energy Turret with Pyro Elemental Infusion on top of the third Energy Turret (on the right side lane).
3. Upgrade the fourth Energy Turret with Fire Intensity Mechanism Enhancement.
4. Engage now and wait until wave 4 is completed.

Stage 2 – Got ‘Em! Mechanism Supplies

1. In the first wave, place the first Energy Turret with Pyro Elemental Infusion in the middle of the plane.
2. Upgrade the first Energy Turret with DMG Range Mechanism Enhancement.
3. Engage now and once you have enough Bolt, place a second Energy Turret with Pyro Elemental Infusion right beside the first Energy Turret.
4. Now wait until wave 1 is completed.

1. In the second wave, upgrade the second Energy Turret with DMG Range Mechanism Enhancement.
2. Place the first Trap Mechanism with Cryo Elemental Infusion right beside the second Energy Turret.
3. Lastly, upgrade the Collection Mechanism once (Make sure the Filter Resource is Bolt Preference).
4. Engage now and wait until wave 2 is completed.

1. You will receive a random Enhancement Protocols. Choose any as it won’t affect the strategy.
2. In the third wave, place a third Energy Turret with Pyro Elemental Infusion on top of the Collection Mechanism.
3. Upgrade the new Energy Turret with Fire Intensity Mechanism Enhancement.
4. Upgrade the Trap Mechanism with Pulling Mechanism Mechanism Enhancement.
5. Place a second Trap Mechanism with Cryo Elemental Infusion right below the first Trap Mechanism.
6. Engage now and wait until wave 3 is completed.

1. In the fourth wave, upgrade the first Trap Mechanism with Shackling Mechanism Upgrade Function.
2. Then, upgrade the second Trap Mechanism with Showcase Mechanism Mechanism Enhancement.
3. Upgrade the second Trap Mechanism once again with Shackling Mechanism Upgrade Function.
4. Engage now and wait until wave 4 is completed.

1. In the fifth wave, upgrade the first Energy Turret with Suppressing Fire Upgrade Function.
2. Next, upgrade the second Energy Turret with Suppressing Fire Upgrade Function.
3. Engage now and wait until you have enough Bolt before you upgrade the third Energy Turret with Target Analysis Upgrade Function.
4. Now wait until wave 5 is completed.

1. In the sixth wave, place a fourth Energy Turret with Pyro Elemental Infusion on top of the third Energy Turret.
2. Upgrade the fourth Energy Turret with Fire Intensity Mechanism Enhancement.
3. Engage now and wait until you have enough Bolt before you upgrade the fourth Energy Turret with Target Analysis Upgrade Function.
4. Now wait until wave 6 is completed.

Stage 3 – Transformation? A Cunning New Trick

1. In the first wave, place an Electro and Pyro Energy Turret on the right side of the middle lane.
2. Then, add a Collection Mechanism in between them but one space to the right.
3. Engage now and wait until wave 1 is completed.

1. In the second wave, add another pair of Electro and Pyro Energy Turrets to the left of the previous Energy Turrets.
2. Then, upgrade the first Electro Energy Turrets with DMG Range, and the Collection Mechanism with Collection Amount Increases.
3. Engage now and wait until wave 2 is completed.

1. In the third wave, add a second Collection Mechanism on the left side.
2. Next, upgrade the Pyro Energy Turret in the middle lane with Fire Intensity.
3. Then you can add another Pyro Energy Turret at the bottom.
4. Engage now and when you have enough Bolts, upgrade the bottom Pyro Energy Turret with Fire Intensity.
5. Now wait until wave 3 is completed.

1. In the fourth wave, it’s all about upgrading. First, upgrade the left Collection Mechanism with Collection Amount Increases.
2. Next, upgrade the middle Electro Energy Turret with DMG Range and the upper Pyro Energy Turret with Fire Intensity.
3. Then it’s time for the upper Electro Energy Turret with Suppressing Fire.
4. Engage now and when you have enough Bolts, upgrade the middle Pyro Energy Turret with Suppressing Fire.
5. Now wait until wave 4 is completed.

1. In the fifth wave, upgrade the upper Pyro Energy Turret with Suppressing Fire, and the middle Electro Energy Turret with Target Analysis.
2. Add another Pyro Energy Turret on the left most lane.
3. Engage now and once you have enough Bolts, upgrade the new Pyro Energy Turret with Fire Intensity.
4. Now wait until wave 5 is completed.

1. In the sixth wave, place an Electro Energy Turret on the most left lane, and upgrade it with Fire Intensity.
2. Place a Geo Trap Mechanism, and upgrade it with Pulling Mechanism and Shackling Mechanism.
3. Engage now and once you have enough Bolts, upgrade the two Energy Turrets on the most left lane with Suppressing Fire.
4. Now wait until wave 6 is completed.

Stage 4 – Energy! A Reliable Partner

1. In the first wave, remove all the default Collection Mechanisms.
2. Place an Electro Energy Turret in the middle of the arena, and upgrade it with Fire Intensity Mechanism Enhancement.
3. Then, place a new Collection Mechanism right beside the Energy Turret. Make sure it’s with Bolt Preference.
4. Engage now and wait until wave 1 is completed.

1. In the second wave, place two Pyro Energy Turrets in the middle of the arena, and upgrade the bottom one with Fire Intensity Mechanism Enhancement.
2. Then, place a new Collection Mechanism right beside the bottom Pyro Energy Turret. Make sure it’s with Bolt Preference.
3. Engage now and wait until wave 2 is completed.

1. In the third wave, upgrade the top Pyro Energy Turret with Fire Intensity Mechanism Enhancement.
2. Then, place a new Pyro Energy Turret in the middle of the arena.
3. Lastly, place two Cryo Trap Mechanisms above and below the two Collection Mechanisms.
4. Engage now and wait until wave 3 is completed.

1. In the fourth wave, upgrade previous Pyro Energy Turret with Fire Intensity Mechanism Enhancement.
2. Next is to upgrade the left Collection Mechanism with Collection Amount Increases.
3. The last step is to place a new Anemo Energy Turret on the most left lane, and upgrade it with DMG Range.
4. Engage now and wait until wave 4 is completed.

1. In the fifth wave, upgrade the right Collection Mechanism with Collection Amount Increases.
2. Then, place a new Anemo Energy Turret on the most right lane, and upgrade it with DMG Range.
3. Engage now and once you have enough Bolts, upgrade the bottom Cryo Trap Mechanism with Pulling Mechanism.
4. Now wait until wave 5 is completed.

1. In the sixth wave, upgrade all the Energy Turrets in the middle area with Focused Attack.
2. Engage now and once you have enough Bolts, upgrade the two Anemo Energy Turrets with Target Analysis.
3. Now wait until wave 6 is completed.

Video Guide for Stage 4

Stage 5 – Traps? The Key to Stopping Enemies

1. In the first wave, remove the Cryo and Hydro Trap Mechanism on the top and bottom side as you will not be using it for this strategy.
2. Then, place Anemo Energy Turret, Pyro Energy Turret, Cryo Trap Mechanism, and Collection Mechanism with Bolt Preference in their respective location (refer to the image above).
3. Engage now and wait until you have enough Bolt before you upgrade the Collection Mechanism so you can get even more Bolts.
4. Now, wait until wave 1 is completed.

1. In the second wave, upgrade the two Anemo and Pyro Energy Turret with Fire Intensity Mechanism Enhancement.
2. Then, add a new Pyro Energy Turret at the top side, and upgrade it to Fire Intensity Mechanism Enhancement.
3. Engage now and wait until wave 2 is completed.

1. In the third wave, add a new Electro Energy Turret on the left of the previous Pyro Energy Turret.
2. Then, upgrade the Electro Energy Turret with Fire Intensity and Focused Attack.
3. Engage now and wait until wave 3 is completed.

1. In the fourth wave, add a Cryo Trap Mechanism above the Collection Mechanism. Then, upgrade it with Pulling Mechanism.
2. Next, add a Pyro Energy Turret at the bottom side, and upgrade it with Fire Intensity and Focused Attack.
3. Engage now and wait until wave 4 is completed.

1. In the fifth wave, it’s all about upgrading. First, upgrade the Pyro and Anemo Energy Turret in the middle lane with Target Analysis.
2. Next, upgrade the Pyro Energy Turret with Focused Attack.
3. Then is the two Trap Mechanisms. Upgrade the top Cryo one with Explosive Mechanism, and the bottom Cryo one with Pulling Mechanism.
4. Engage now and wait until wave 5 is completed.

1. In the sixth wave, further upgrade the bottom Cryo Trap Mechanism with Fracturing Mechanism.
2. Then, upgrade the Geo Trap Mechanism beside it with Minelaying Mechanism and Explosive Mechanism.
3. Add a last Electro Energy Turret at the bottom right side of the arena, and upgrade it with Fire intensity and Surpressing Fire.
4. Engage now and wait until wave 6 is completed.

Stage 6 – Showdown! Endless Foes Incoming!

1. In the first wave, place a Pyro Energy Turret, an Electro Energy Turret, and a Collection Mechanism with Bolt Preference on the bottom left side of the arena (at the locations marked in the image above).
2. Engage now and wait until you have enough Bolt before you upgrade the Collection Mechanism so you can get even more Bolts.
3. Now wait until wave 1 is completed.

1. In the second wave, place an Electro Energy Turret on the bottom right side of the arena, a Pyro Energy Turret, and a Collection Mechanism with Bolt Preference.
2. Upgrade the Electro Energy Turret with Fire Intensity Mechanism Enhancement.
3. Engage now and wait until you have enough Bolt before you upgrade the Collection Mechanism on the right side.
4. Now wait until wave 2 is completed.

1. In the third wave, upgrade the Pyro Energy Turret on the right side with Fire Intensity Mechanism Enhancement.
2. Next, place an Electro and Wind Energy Turret in the middle of the arena.
3. Upgrade the two new Energy Turret with Fire Intensity Mechanism Enhancement.
4. Engage now and wait until wave 3 is completed.

1. In the fourth wave, upgrade the two Energy Turrets on the bottom left side with Fire Intensity Mechanism Enhancement.
2. Then, place a Geo Trap Mechanism on both left and right side of the arena.
3. Next, upgrade both Trap Mechanisms with a Pulling Mechanism and Fracturing Mechanism.
4. Engage now and wait until wave 4 is completed.

1. In the fifth wave, upgrade all the Electro and Pyro Energy Turrets on the bottom part of the arena with Target Analysis Upgrade Function.
2. Then, add an Anemo Energy Turret on the left and right side before upgrading them with Fire Intensity Mechanism Enhancement.
3. Engage now and wait until wave 5 is completed.

1. In the sixth wave, remove the two Collection Mechanisms on the bottom side of the arena.
2. Then, place a Pyro Energy Turret on the top left, and an Electro Energy Turret on the top right.
3. Upgrade the two new Energy Turrets with Fire Intensity and Target Analysis.
4. Place two Geo Trap Mechanisms in the middle of the arena.
5. Finally, upgrade the Trap Mechanisms with Pulling Mechanisms and Fracturing Mechanisms.
