Starsand Island just showed a new announcement trailer and confirmed a February 2026 launch window.
It looks like Stardew Valley wandered into an Ghibli daydream.
Peaceful farming, exploration, and a pile of customization. It is beautiful and it is cozy as hell.

They did the hard thing and nailed it.

| Backers | 5,306 |
Let’s give the devs a big round of applause.
That is a big deal for an indie cozy sim. Hitting the goal and pushing past it means they have runway to polish, and it shows people want this exact flavor of chill.
Everything You Need to Know
In Starsand Islands, players can:
- Farm, fish, and raise animals
- Explore the island and its hidden corners
- Decorate and expand your home
- Customize your character and space
- Meet locals, do quests, unlock new systems
- Sink into a slow rhythm that does not punish you for taking your time
I also really like how detailed the NPC affection system is:
With that said, here are some reasons why I and other fans are excited:
- It looks gorgeous. Soft colors, gentle post-processing, and animation that feels hand-touched.
- There is a great deal of exploration, little mysteries, and room to roam.
- It aims to be low-friction and high-comfort. That is the cozy sweet spot.
Put this on the wishlist. Cozy life sims live and die on feel, and Starsand Island already feels right.
The trailer sells the mood.
The Kickstarter numbers prove there is demand. If they land stable performance and keep the loop rewarding, this could be a great addition for life sims.
Anyway, Starsand Island will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam & Microsoft Store). And cross-platform co-op will also be supported.
The dev team did say they’re trying really hard to get it on Nintendo Switch, too. So stay tuned.

Dante is Editor-in-Chief (Lord Hokage), which means he runs editorial and operations at BrandAnime. That means this whole thing was his idea, and he spends his time making stuff work and covering the latest anime and games. When he's not doing 100 things at once, he's usually... watching anime or playing games. His life isn't that interesting, honestly.
