After tracking footprints in “Unexpected Encounter,” the Traveler and Paimon come across a peculiar bard named Venti in front of Mondstadt Cathedral.
Though he appears carefree, his knowledge of Stormterror (Dvalin) and the situation surrounding Mondstadt suggests that he is more than just an ordinary musician.
“That Green Fellow” is the third quest in Prologue: Act II, marking the moment when the Traveler begins to understand Stormterror’s true nature and the role that the Holy Lyre der Himmel will play in stopping his rampage.
This guide walks you through meeting Venti, uncovering his connection to Dvalin, and preparing for the next step in the mission to save Mondstadt.
Quest Details
- Quest Name: That Green Fellow
- Quest Type: Archon Quest
- Chapter: Prologue: Act II – For a Tomorrow Without Tears
- Location: Mondstadt Cathedral
- Quest Giver: Venti
- Recommended Level: 10+
Objectives
- Head to Mondstadt Cathedral and find Venti
- Talk to Venti and listen to his story
- Learn about Dvalin’s past and the Holy Lyre der Himmel
- Plan the next step in retrieving the Lyre
Walkthrough
1. Find Venti in Front of Mondstadt Cathedral

After completing “Unexpected Encounter,” follow the quest marker leading to Mondstadt Cathedral. Venti can be found standing outside the Cathedral entrance, appearing as a wandering bard playing his lyre.
Upon approaching, a cutscene will trigger, introducing Venti properly for the first time.
✔ Use the teleport waypoint near the Cathedral for quick access
✔ Take a moment to explore Mondstadt if needed before proceeding
2. Talk to Venti and Listen to His Story

Once the cutscene begins, Venti greets the Traveler and Paimon in a playful, poetic manner, but immediately surprises them by referring to Stormterror as “Dvalin”. Paimon, caught off guard, questions how he knows the dragon’s true name.
Venti explains that Dvalin was once Mondstadt’s protector, not its enemy. However, after years of isolation and being manipulated by an unknown force, he lost his way and turned against the city he once loved.
Despite his carefree attitude, Venti speaks about Dvalin with a sense of familiarity, as if he personally knows the dragon.
✔ Venti’s casual nature contrasts with his deep understanding of Mondstadt’s past
✔ This conversation hints at Venti’s true identity, though he does not reveal it yet
3. Learn About Dvalin’s Past and the Holy Lyre der Himmel

Venti explains that Dvalin’s rage isn’t natural—it’s a result of corruption, which has twisted his mind against Mondstadt. The Traveler begins to see Stormterror in a new light—not as a mindless monster, but as a creature in pain.
Venti then introduces the Holy Lyre der Himmel, an ancient instrument once used to calm Dvalin and communicate with him. He believes that if they retrieve the Lyre and use it to reach Dvalin’s heart, they may be able to save him instead of destroying him.
However, the Holy Lyre is currently kept inside Mondstadt Cathedral, meaning they will need a plan to retrieve it.
✔ This conversation shifts the mission from simply fighting Stormterror to understanding and saving him
✔ The Holy Lyre becomes the next key objective in the Archon Quest
Quest Rewards
Completing “That Green Fellow” grants the following rewards:
- Adventure EXP: 275
- Mora: 5,000
- Primogems: 30
- Hero’s Wit: 1
These rewards help in leveling up the Traveler and preparing for upcoming challenges.
Tips
✔ Pay close attention to Venti’s dialogue – His words hint at his true identity, foreshadowing major lore developments later in the story.
