Nefer is the upcoming 5-star Dendro DMG dealer who enables her party members to trigger Lunar-Bloom reactions and deals high Lunar-Bloom DMG directly. Personally as a Traveler who gets to experience her in the early access, she is extremely easy to use which is a huge plus for every player, but her team is quite restrictive. Let’s go in-depth and I will explain why.

Nefer Kit & Overview

Moonsign & Seeds of Deceit

If you already experienced version 6.0, then you’ll know there is a new team bonus which is called Moonsign. By including a single Nod-Krai character, you will active Nascent Moon, and if there are 2 Nod-Krai characters, you will activate Ascendant Gleam. In Nefer’s case, she needs to be in Ascendant Gleam to get her full potential.

As you can see in the image above, Nefer’s talent ‘A Wager of Moonlight’ will only be activated once there are 2 Nod-Krai character in the team. Once you do so, the following effects will occur:

  • When using Elemental Skill, all (and the next 15 seconds) Dendro and Bountiful Cores will be converted to Seeds of Deceit.
  • These seeds cannot trigger Hyperbloom or Burgeon!
  • Once she performs Charged Attack or Phantasm Performance (special Charged Attack), she will absorb the Seeds of Deceit, gaining 1 stack of Veil of Falsehood.
  • When Nefer gains 3 stacks of Veil of Falsehood, her Elemental Mastery will be increased by 100 for 8 seconds.

TLDR: Once Nefer use her Skill, all Dendro Cores will be converted to Seeds of Deceit. These Seeds cannot trigger Hyperbloom nor Burgeon. When Nefer uses her Charged ATK, she will absorb the seeds to gain Veil of Falsehood. At 3 stacks of Veils, her EM will be increased by 100 for 8 seconds.

Kit & Rotation

Now that we got to her important part, it’s time for her main kit: the Charged ATK and Skill. Her whole rotation is basically Skill > Charged ATK x3 > Skill > Charged ATK x3. Let’s break that down.

First of all, you need to have sufficient Dendro and Hydro application to get the Verdant Dew. That means you need to bring an off-field applicators like (Lauma/Nahida/etc) and (Aino/Xingqiu/Furina/etc) to the team.

After you use other supports on the field to ensure the Verdant Dew, switch back to Nefer and use her Skill. The Skill will makes Nefer charges forward, deal Dendro DMG, and enter the Shadow Dance state. The damage is extremely low but don’t worry, this is not her main damage output.

This is how Charged Attack Phantasm Performance looks like

Now that she’s in the Shadow Dance state, her Charged Attack will be replaced with the special Charged Attack Phantasm Performance, which will not consume Stamina. THIS is where her big damage comes in. With every 1 Verdant Dew, Nefer can use 1 Charged Attack Phantasm Performance. Once she uses 3 Charged Attack, she will exit the Shadow Dance state.
This is why she has 2 Skill’s Charge. So in one rotation, she can use Skill > Charged ATK x 3 > Skill > Charged ATK x3. Showcases of her full rotation will be included in the YouTube videos at the bottom of this post!

Wait, what about her Ultimate?
It’s up to you whether you want to use it at the end of the rotation or not. The damage is not big at all, but it’s not bad either. Personally, I would skip it and restart the rotation from the supports again, but if you like her animation, use it.
Oh yes, and Nefer should have full Veils of Falsehood now. By using her Burst, she will consume all the Veils to further increase the DMG dealt by Burst. But even with that, I still think the damage is not worth the 2 second animation.

Nefer Best Weapon (Catalyst)

After testing in the creator server, you can see the chart in the video above. Obviously, her signature is the best for Nefer, following with a few stat sticks and the F2P catalyst ‘Blackmarrow Lantern.’
While R5 The Widsith deals high damage than the signature, don’t be fooled! The Widsith 3 different buffs, and it is randomized on which buff you will get. In addition, you will only get this buff per 30 seconds. In other word, the damage of this weapon is inconsistent compared to other weapons!

Nefer Synergy & Team Compositions

Nefer is the first slot, and the second one belong to a Dendro character. If you’ve been reading any other Nefer guides, you definitely come across someone saying that Nefer needs Lauma in her team. And I’m here to say that it’s half-true and half-false. Let’s say between Lauma and Nahida, putting Lauma in the team will increase your Nefer’s damage by 30%. So yes, Lauma is best-in-slot for Nefer’s team, but you can still use Nefer without her.

The following characters are the Dendro characters you can use for Nefer’s team: Lauma > Nahida > Dendro MC/Collei. Make sure they are using the Deepwood Memories artifact set to reduce enemies’ Dendro RES.

The next slot is for Hydro. The best-in-slot would be Aino because she can activate Moonsign, have a good Hydro application, and have short cooldown. As of version 6.1, she’s the best for Nefer.
Next is Furina, and she’s only here for her Skill. After all, the DMG Bonus from Ultimate is not useful for Nefer at all. So if you bring Furina, only tap her Skill and no need to use Elemental Burst.
The next option would be the usual Xingqiu and Yelan. However, keep in mind that you need to trigger Basic Attack before Nefer can summon the Hydro application from XQ and Yelan’s Burst. In other words, you need to prolong the rotation to Skill > Basic ATK x1 > Charged ATK x1 > Basic ATK x1 > Charged ATK x1 > Basic ATK x1 > Charged ATK x1. In addition to that, their Burst cooldown is also quite long, extending Nefer’s short rotation. In my opinion, you better use Aino instead of these two.
Then we have Kokomi (or Sigewinne). They’re basically healer with no offensive support at all so expect Nefer’s damage to be quite low.

The last slot belong to sustain or any supporter you want to add. Let’s say your Lauma is C1 (she can heal now), you can add Nahida here for more buff. If the Dendro and Hydro slot cannot provide any sustain, you can bring any healer or shielder that is suitable. Some of them are:
– Kuki Shinobu with Sapwood Blade
– C6 Diona (must be C6 for the EM buff)
– Baizhu for Deepwood holder and shield
– Zhongli for Elemental RES shred
– Ineffa for shield

Nefer Talent Priority

Skill > Burst > NA

While her main damage output is from Charged Attack Phantasm Performance, the damage scaling comes from her Skill, that’s why upgrading her Skill is the priority. You don’t even need to upgrade her NA if you want to save materials. But when there’s no Verdant Dew and you’re waiting for it, you will need to use her Normal Attack to kill some time.

Nefer Constellation Overview
