Lauma is one of the newest upcoming Dendro characters in Genshin Impact’s Nod-Krai region.
She was shown in the Moonlit Ballad of the Night teaser video, which premiered on July 22, 2025
We also got to see her up close and personal in another teaser, “Through the Silent Frostbound Night”:
Let’s break down everything you need to know about Lauma, her abilities, appearance, and when she’ll be released as a playable character.
Who is Lauma in Genshin Impact?
Lauma is a female Dendro user who lives in Nod-Krai, a sub-region of Snezhnaya. She is a member of the Frostmoon Scions, a Nod-Krai faction that worship the Moon Goddess and are descendents of an ancient Teyvat civilization.
She, with the rest of the Frostmoon Scions, live in a mountainaous and forest-like region in Hiisi Island.
She will be one of Nod-Krai’s roster of playable characters, along with Ineffa, Aino, Filns, and possibly Alice.

Lauma will be voiced by Alexandra Guelff (EN) and Houko Kuwashima (JP).
What are Lauma’s Abilities?
Now, here is where things get interesting.
Lauma has the ability to transfer into a deer-like being. It’s believed that her hybrid transformation will be a part of her Elemental Skill and Burst animations.
She may also have an Alternate Sprint, unlike most characters in Genshin Impact. In fact, only Mona and Ayaka Kamisato have Alternate Sprint based on their unique skillset.
From the teaser video, we know that Lauma is tall, has elf ears, and glowing horns. But, some early 6.0 leaks show Lauma’s unique combat abilities on TikTok:
When Will Lauma Be Released?
Lauma will be released during the Genshin Impact 6.0 update. This new update will go into effect on September 10, 2025.
