The winners of the Indie Game Award 2026, hosted by Taipei Game Show, have officially been announced, and this year’s results highlight just how emotionally powerful and creatively diverse the global indie scene has become.

At the center of the spotlight was and Roger, developed by Japan’s TearyHand Studio, which captured both the Grand Prix and Best Audio awards. Judges praised the title for its refined controls and deeply integrated soundtrack, noting how its music amplifies the narrative experience in a way that lingers long after the game ends.

Several panelists openly shared that the game moved them to tears.
