Wavey Bay is a sub-area inside the new map expansion of Genshin Impact version 5.8 named Easybreeze Holiday Resort. While exploring the location, players would not miss the purple patch of ground south of Wavey Bay with ethereal view. One item that makes this area stood out more is how there’s a locked Luxurious Chest in the middle of the lake, beside a swing. This guide will help you locate this area and solve the puzzle to unlock the Luxurious Chest in Genshin Impact.
How to Solve the Luxurious Chest Puzzle South of Wavey Bay in Genshin Impact
First of all, the location. You can find the Luxurious Chest directly south of Wavey Bay in Genshin Impact, with the purple patch of ground as a landmark. Teleport to Wavey Bay southeast waypoint, and head west until you reach a lack with a small island in the middle.
To solve this puzzle, you need to find 3 Monetoo in the area, and lead them back to their graffiti near the Luxurious Chest. The area range is a bit wide, but it is not too hard to navigate as the lake is surrounded by mountains so there’s little place to hide.
The First Monetoo at South of Wavey Bay
The first Monetoo is located east of the Luxurious Chest, and can be seen immediately beside an Asha. Indwell the Asha and follow the Monetoo to each Asha’s houses.
On the first house the Monetoo stopped at, use the blue painting on the wall of the house. After the whole hut is covered in color, the Monetoo will move to the next location.
On the second house, switch color to yellow and splash the toy inside the house with yellow color (specifically the long-necked animal toy). The Monetoo will move to the next house, and now you need to use a red paint on the colorless balloon. This will complete the task for the first Monetoo and it will return to its graffiti in the middle of the lake. Immediately after returning, an Exquisite Chest will appear for you to claim!
The second Monetoo at South of Wavey Bay
From the previous spot where you get the Exquisite Chest, look above in the direction of the northeast and you will see a Chroma Kite. Splash any color on the bottom side of the kite, and it will float in the other direction leaving a trail. Indwell an Asha and ride along the trail to reach the top of it.
Once you’re at the top of the Chroma Kite, look at the three star uncolored graffiti on the mountainside. Paint them with Asha colors to brighten them up (Make sure to use blue colors for the lower stars and yellow on the single upper star). After a short cutscene appears to turn the stars into shooting stars, the second Monetoo will appear and immediately go back to its graffiti near the Luxurious Chest.
The third Monetoo at South of Wavey Bay
The last Monetoo is quite hidden – in fact, trapped inside a cage. From the previous spot on top of the Chroma Kite, look to the west and you will see a small star teleportation your Asha self can use to instantly swing to the other side. Enter the hole near the star where you can spot a few enemies inside.
After all enemies are defeated, you will unlock the Remarkable Chest, free the Asha (make sure to indwell this Asha), and in Asha state, free the Monetoo. Finally, follow the Monetoo until it reaches its graffiti. Make sure all three Monetoo are back inside their graffiti before following the last step.
The last step is to sit on the swing in front of the Luxurious Chest. A short cutscene will start zooming out of the small island in the middle of the lake, and the Luxurious Chest will be unlocked afterwards.
