The first teaser PV for Haibara-kun’s Strong and Youthful New Game has dropped, and it’s already carving out space as one of Spring 2026’s standout school romcoms.
Based on Kazuki Amamiya’s award-winning light novel series, winner of the HJ Novel Award 2020 Grand Prize, the anime adaptation brings time-leap drama, shy energy, and youth do-overs together in a polished first look.
The teaser focuses on Natsuki Haibara, a boy whose failed attempt at a “high school debut” left him stuck in a washed-out, grey version of adolescence. But everything changes when he suddenly time-leaps back to the start of his first year, giving him the impossible: a second chance to rewrite his youth from scratch.
The PV shows glimpses of his new beginning, along with the girl at the center of his second try, Hikari Hoshimiya, hinting at a story filled with awkward charm, small emotional swings, and the slow-build chemistry that fans of the novels know well.
Studio Comet is handling the animation, with Misuzu Hoshino directing and Keiichiro Ochi overseeing series composition. The art direction leans bright and refreshing, matching the “redo your youth” concept perfectly.
The anime is set to air April 2026 on TBS and related networks, marking the official start of Haibara’s second run at life, love, and everything he couldn’t get right the first time.

Dante is Editor-in-Chief (Lord Hokage), which means he runs editorial and operations at BrandAnime. That means this whole thing was his idea, and he spends his time making stuff work and covering the latest anime and games. When he's not doing 100 things at once, he's usually... watching anime or playing games. His life isn't that interesting, honestly.
