Spiral Abyss is updated every 16th and for October, many new enemies are added to the end-game as we arrive to the new area, Nod-Krai. By entering the abyss, you will challenge your team build against various enemies and mechanism, striving to get full 12 stars.

However, not everyone will have an easy time to collect the stars as newer players may have difficulty in understanding the mechanism of some enemies, or their builds are not perfect yet. This guide will help players to understand the enemies in floor 11 and 12, while recommending some teams that you can try.

Spiral Abyss Luna I (October) Floor 11

Ley Line Disorder

  • All characters in the party gain a 60% Electro DMG Bonus.
  • All characters in the party gain a 60% Dendro DMG Bonus.

Team Recommendations for the First Half

There are not many restrictions here because while some enemies have certain RES, you can still overcome it with raw damage. It’s best if your DPS focuses on single-target instead of AoE because there are not many enemies in each chambers, with the exception of Chamber 3 (although they will chase after you so it’s not a problem really).

Team Recommendations for the Second Half

In the second half, it’s just like in the first half with not too much restrictions. But there are many chambers with more than 1 enemies, so a damage dealer that can deal even a small amount of AoE is good here. The elements that are not recommended is Hydro DPS as there is a Hydro Phantasm that is completely immune to Hydro.

Chamber 1 – First Half

Radiant Lunapod | 50% Hydro RES

The first and only enemy is Radiant Lunapod, and this one is just like any other enemy but with one special skill: Radiant Cocoon.
When your character has the Radiant Cocoon debuff, their Crit Rate and Incoming Healing Bonus are both decreased by 10%. But after healing to 100% of their HP, they will be released from the Cocoon and gain the Disentangled effect, increasing Crit Rate by 15%. Bring a healer so your character can cleanse the debuff and gain the free Crit Rate.

Chamber 1 – Second Half

Oprichniki Hailstorm Cannoneer | -20% Physical RES
Oprichniki Fireblade Shock Trooper | -20% Physical RES
Oprichniki Vanguard | -20% Physical RES
Oprichniki Medic | -20% Physical RES

In the first wave, there are 3 enemies at the front side. Among all three, focus on the Cannoneer (the big one) as he has a skill that can create a Kuuvahki shield with his cannon. If you didn’t defeat him in time and he create the shield, you can go behind him to hit the weak spot (not shielded). The other two will get hit by your attacks towards the Cannoneer.

In the second wave, there are still 3 enemies, but with different variant of Fatui Oprichniki. This time, focus on the Medic – the small guy – first because he has the ability to heal the other two and also increases their ATK. The Medic has a small amount of health so you can defeat him easily and then focus on the Shock Troopers.

Chamber 2 – First Half

Wind Operative | -20% Physical RES & 50% Anemo RES
Thundering Wayob Manifestation | 50% Electro RES

In the first wave, there is a single Wind Operative. Most of her attacks are pretty predictable and easy to evade. The one mechanic you need to know is the Bond of Life. She will sacrifice some of her HP to initiate Hunt Down: Lock on you. If you get hit, you will receive a Bond of Life and be affected by Corrosion status.

The BoL will makes your characters lose HP slowly even if you have a shield. And if you get hit by this skill and stack the BoL, the more HP your characters will lose. Make sure to avoid the Hunt Down: Lock but if you did get attacked, make sure to heal your characters so the BoL will disappear. Note that in this wave, try to save your Energy for the next wave.

Once you see the Wayob in the second phase, immediately use every Elemental Burst you have, especially one with a long duration like Xingqiu or Collei, etc so their damages can hurt the incoming shield. Around ~5 seconds after the Wayob spawns, it will create an arena and gain a non-elemental shield.

Characters within the arena will lose all Energy and cannot gain Energy (this is why you ned to use all your Burst immediately). If the Arena’s duration ends and the shield is not destroyed, the Wayob Manifestation causes an explosion around itself and converts the remaining percentage of its shield to a Electro elemental shield.

Chamber 2 – Second Half

Wilderness Exile | No special RES
Tainted Water-Spouting Phantasm | Immune to Hydro

The first two waves feature the same enemies: 2 Wilderness Exiles. These enemies are unique as they will not die when their HP reaches 0. Instead, they will enter a Grief-Stricken state. In this state, these enemies will be able to take further DMG that depletes its Max HP instead of its current HP. Depleted Max HP is indicated by a gray bar that fills from the right. When the Exile’s Max HP reaches 0, it will be defeated. The best strategy here is to bring Nod-Krai characters as their abilities enhanced by Ascendant Gleam will deal direct damage to the gray bar.

While the last wave feature a single Tainted Water-Spouting Phantasm that is completely immune to Hydro. But on the bright side, you can easily trigger a Hydro-releated reactions. The Phantasm will periodically enters an enraged state where it will use enhanced attacks and become immune to being Frozen. If you bring a Cryo character and freeze the Tainted Hydro Phantasm for more than 8 seconds, it will also force it to enter this state.

Chamber 3 – First Half

Wilderness Exile | No special RES
Cutting Edge All-Purpose Storm Landcruiser | No special RES
Close Combat Scout Landcruiser | No special RES

In the third and last wave, there are 3 robots. Among these three, focus on the Cutting Edge Landcruiser as it has the highest HP. In addition, it also has a special skill that deals higher damage, and you can paralyze it for a bit by using Electro-Charged or Lunar-Charged reactions. The other two robots will chase after you and most likely will get hit too from your attacks towards the big robot (collateral damage) so don’t worry about them too much , and they have low HP too!

Chamber 3 – Second Half

Construction Specialist | No special RES
Foliar-Swift Wayob Manifestation | 50% Dendro RES

The first wave will spawn a Construction Specialist. It’s just like any other mobs, but you can weaken it by using Ousia attacks (as this enemy is Pneuma type). One of the dangerous attack it has is the spinning Pyro attacks as it can knockback your characters, so having a shield is a good option.

Spiral Abyss Luna I (October) Floor 12

Ley Line Disorder

  • First Half | Character’s Bloom DMG increased by 200% and Lunar-Bloom DMG increased by 75%.
  • Second Half | Characters’ Electro-Charged DMG increased by 200% and Lunar-Charged DMG increased by 75%.

Team Recommendations for the First Half

In the first half, it is recommended to bring a character with excellent single target DPS. In addition, you want to bring a Dendro and Hydro element because of certain mechanisms againt a boss that will be mentioned in the their floor.

The most recommended team is one that uses Dendro as Main DPS and Hydro Support. While Mono-Hydro DPS is not recommended because there are enemies that are immune to Hydro. One more thing, a healer is also recommended (or character than can heal themselves) to remove an enemy’s debuff.

Team Recommendations for the Second Half

In the second half, we want Electro and Hydro in the team. The DPS is best to be able to deal good damage against single-target while also having the capability to deal some AoE damage. Since there’s a Wild Hunt mechanism, it’s also recommended to bring at least 2 Nod-Krai characters to activate the Ascendant Moonsign to counter said mechanism.
But special mention to Skirk’s premium team because she also able to remove the Shock Trooper’s Electro shield as fast as an Electro-Charged team.

Chamber 1 – First Half

Tainted Water-Splitting Phantasm | Immune to Hydro
Assault Specialist Mek – Pneuma | No special RES
Radiant Antelope | 50% Electro RES

In the first wave, there is only a single Water Phantasm, so you just need to get near it and focus attacking it. The Phantasm will periodically enters an enraged state where it will use enhanced attacks and become immune to being Frozen. If you bring a Cryo character and freeze the Tainted Hydro Phantasm for more than 8 seconds, it will also force it to enter this state.

In the second wave, there’s a single Meka (Pneuma), and there’s also no need to worry about being attacked by an elemental reactions so just attack it as usual. If you attack this Meka with Ousia attacks, it will cause them to be weaken for a short time.

The last wave features Radiant Antelope, and one important thing you need to know is that it can inflict debuff on your team called Radiant Cocoon.
While a character is wrapped in a Radiant Cocoon, their CRIT Rate and Incoming Healing Bonus are both decreased by 10%. Once the character is healed to 100% HP, they will be released from the Cocoon and gain the Disentangled effect, increasing CRIT Rate by 15%. This is the reason a healer is recommended in the team, to restore the health and remove the debuff. But if your team doesn’t care about Crit, then it’s okay.

Chamber 1 – Second Half

Battle-Hardened Lightkeeper | No Special RES

There is only a single enemy in this half and it’s Sigurd (you may have battle him in the open world as Local Legend). Sigurd has two phases.

In the first phase, the attack that you need to be wary of is Demonsbane Strike (the Keqing-Ultimate lookalike). Once you see the AoE mark on the ground, it’s best to get out of the area immediately. The damage is one thing, but what’s bad is how each of those slashes can knockback your characters – like if you avoid one of the slash, you won’t be able to avoid the next one and it will knock your character back.

Once reaching 0 health, Sigurd will enter a Grief-Stricken state. In this state, he does not attack and you can attack him freely in order to fill the Grief-Stricken bar. After a few seconds, he will restore HP equal to the amount not covered by the gray bar.

In the second phase, the attacks you need to take care of are when he summons 4 Wilderness Exiles. If you did not defeat the mobs within a certain time, Sigurd’s lantern will glow and will absorb the Exiles to deal an explosion. If you’re too near him at this time, the explosion may kill your character because it deals a lot of damage. In addition, absorbing the mobs will also remove the progress from the Grief-Stricken bar.

Chamber 2 – First Half

Battle-Hardened Primordial Bathysmal Vishap | 30% Physical RES & 70% Hydro RES

The only enemy here is the Local Legend Vishap, and its moveset is basically the same with normal Vishap so you shouldn’t have too much problem with. The one thing you need to beware of is the Purification Field where it will gain a Hydro shield, have increased RES, and summon a field.

Every 0.5 seconds, the field will drain 10 Energy from active characters within it. If the active character has less than 10 Energy, they will lose HP instead. The shield can be destroyed using elemental reactions and is weakest to Dendro, followed by Cryo and Electro. Having no healer is here dangerous because your active character can easily die if they couldn’t inflict Dendro too fast. When destroyed, the enemy will be paralyzed for a short duration, will provide you with a lot of energy, and the increased RES are removed.

Chamber 2 – Second Half

Wilderness Hunter | No special RES

There are two waves here but it’s the same enemy. The battle is similar to fighting Sigurd. Once reaching 0 health, these enemies will enter a Grief-Stricken state instead of dying immediately.

Chamber 3 – First Half

Battle-Scarred Rock Crab | No special RES

If you already defeat this enemy in the open world as Local Legend Crab Tsar, you know this crab extremely loves Bloom damage. Right from the start, the boss will float above, gain a shield, and drop Stoneborne Seeds in a circular pattern.

You need to trigger Bloom, Hyperbloom, Burgeon or Lunar-Bloom damage on those seeds so it will erupt and launch themselves to the Crab Tsar. Six of these seeds can instantly destroy the boss’s shield, and the best character to do it is Lauma’s Hold Skill. In addition to attacking the shield, the damage dealt by those seeds are scaled to the character’s EM so you can bet Lauma and Nefer will do a great job here. Once the Crab Tsar falls down, it will be stunned for ~4 seconds.

If you didn’t manage to destroy its shield with the seeds in time, the Stoneborne Seeds that are still on the ground will explode, dealing huge damage (even your shielded character will die).

Chamber 3 – Second Half

Battle-Hardened Fireblade Shock Trooper | No special RES

The last enemy in the last chamber is another Local Legend called Raskolnikov. Right from the start, it will enter a defense mode and create a 3-layer shields. In addition, he will also have a Ward and Fury bar. The Ward is the while shield below his HP bar, and it shows the health of the shield. This shield takes damage from all attacks, but can regenerate. This regeneration can be slowed by using Electro-Charged or Lunar-Charged DMG.

When the Ward is destroyed, the Fury bar will increase by 33%, while dealing damage to Raskolnikov and restory energies to your team.
TLDR: Destroy the shield (Ward) 3 times to fill the Fury bar so Raskolnikov will exit the shielded state and becomes stunned for 13 seconds.

If you didn’t manage to destroy all 3 shields after 35 seconds have passed, the boss will exit the protective state, launching three instances of Thundering Suite in rapid succession on your location, dealing huge damage.
