“Shadow Over Mondstadt” is the first quest in Archon Quest Prologue: Act II, marking the beginning of the next chapter in Genshin Impact’s main storyline.

Walkthrough

1. Return to Mondstadt

After completing Prologue: Act I, head back to Mondstadt and follow the quest marker to Jean’s location.

✔ The easiest way to get there is teleporting to the city waypoint and heading toward the Favonius Headquarters.

2. Listen to Jean’s Conversation

As you approach, you’ll see Jean speaking with an unknown figure. This is a story cutscene, so simply listen to their conversation to progress.

During the discussion, Jean expresses concerns over Stormterror’s increasing aggression, but the identity of the stranger remains a mystery.

3. Return to the Knights of Favonius Headquarters

After the conversation, approach Jean and follow her back to the Favonius Headquarters.

✔ Use the main entrance to the Knights of Favonius building to enter and trigger the next scene.

4. Talk to Jean and Investigate the Crystal

Once inside Jean’s office, you’ll find Lisa examining a mysterious crystal—the same corrupted fragment left behind by Stormterror.

✔ Jean, Lisa, and the Traveler discuss the possible origins of the crystal and what it might mean for Mondstadt.
✔ This conversation sets the stage for further investigations into Stormterror’s Lair and the Abyss Order.

After the discussion concludes, the quest “Shadow Over Mondstadt” will be completed, and you’ll be ready to continue to “Unexpected Encounter.”
