Not only does Yelan have a new outfit in version 5.8, but now she is getting an Echo to fit her new design (and old too, of course). As an extremely strong Sub-DPS and Hydro application, many Travelers should have Yelan in their accounts. Once you build her to Level 90 and Friendship Level 8, you can unlock her Envisaged Echoes challenge in the Imaginarium Theater room. This guide will help you complete the challenge even if you don’t have her constellation or signature weapon!

Recommended Yelan Build
Yelan is the only character that can be used in her challenge, and she will use the build that you have (not using Trial Character). Thus, you need to build her properly before entering the challenge.
- Weapon: Aqua Simulacra (5⭐) / Elegy for the End (5⭐) / Sacrificial Bow (4⭐) / Favonius Warbow (4⭐)
- Artifact: Emblem of Severed Fate
- Stat: HP%/ER% | Hydro DMG Bonus | Crit
- Talent: Prioritize Elemental Burst > Elemental Skill > Normal Attack
The following is my build that completes the challenge (in the video above), so you can use it as a reference to build an even better one:

Valley Orchid Phase 1
Challenge Objective:
Complete 3 objectives within the time limit:
- Collect the designated number of Anemo particles within the time limit
- Destroy the designated number of targets
- Defeat the designated number of opponents
- Yelan’s Phase 1 was very nicely structured as it was optimally positioned for the cooldowns of her skills. If you have her at C0, you can try to ‘cheat’ by using the Sacrificial Bow. Yes, the weapon needs you to use Skill on enemies, and the stage nicely placed a few Hilichurls along the way for you to take advantage of.
- But even without Sacrificial Bow, you can still complete this challenge without any problem because while you need to wait for her Skill CD to ends, you need to pop the targets in the air using her Charged ATK.

- Remember that Yelan’s Charged ATK has a special state = Breakthrough. She will enter Breakthrough state after spending 5 seconds out of combat (when there are no enemies to combat or if you switch to another ally), and by using her Skill on enemies.
- Breakthrough will cause her next Charged Aimed Shot to have 80% decreased charge time, and once charged, can fire a “Breakthrough Barb” that will deal AoE Hydro DMG. These AoEs are the ones that will save your time to clear the challenge within the time limit.
- You can see if she’s in Breakthrough by the bracelet on her right hand. If it’s shining, then Yelan is in the Breakthrough state. There’s also a mark above her head when the cooldown is reset by her skill.
- Once you reach 23 Anemo particles (aka at the end of the path), there will be two Hilichurls on the left and right side, and two sets balloons also on the left and right side.
- The best strategy to use here is using Yelan’s Aimed Shot on the balloons on left side first > Use Skill on all 4 Hilichurls to reset the Breakthrough state > Use her Aimed Shot once again on the balloons at the right side.
Valley Orchid Phase 2
Challenge Objective:
Destroy opponents within the time limit.
Special Rules:
During the Valley Orchid Phase II challenge, Elemental Nuclei will sequentially appear at the Pyro Regisvine’s corolla and roots. Destroy both these Nuclei to stun the Pyro Regisvine.

- Now this is the more challenging part, especially if you don’t have her signature bow, as her damage will go down a lot – it gave her 80% more Crit Damage after all. But as you can see in my video, it’s totally possible to complete the challenge with just a 4-star weapon (but still, make sure the build is decent).
- In this challenge, you need to defeat the Pyro Regisvine, but this one is pretty special compared to the punching bag in the open-world – You can only inflict damage on this boss after you stun them by destroying both corolla and roots.
- Yelan’s Aimed Shot play the most important role because those are the only attacks you can use to destroy the corolla and roots. Yes, you can’t use Skill on even the roots to inflict damage (But Ultimate can).
- Before starting, note that the Pyro Slimes will keep spawning and they’re here purely so your Yelan can refresh the Breakthrough state by using Skill on them and just to annoy you.
- So the plan here is, use your Aimed Shot (Breakthrough) on the corolla > Use Skill on Slimes to refresh the Breakthrough state OR you can just use normal Aimed Shot until the corolla is destroyed.
- Once the weakness moved to roots, the Regisvine will first scream and push you away from it first (not even i-frame can help you with this). So once you’re pushed away, immediately run to the roots (or use Skill), and use Ultimate. This will immediately break the roots and stun the Pryo Regisvine.
- Once it’s stunned spam Yelan’s Normal Attacks, Skill, Breakthrough state until the Regisvine comes back up and use the exact same rotation. Don’t forget to avoid any incoming attacks because Yelan can be thrown away and this will waste your precious time.
