Prelude to the Night Vigil Quest Chain Guide | Genshin Impact

A new area was released in Genshin Impact version Luna IV. With new area expansion, comes new quest series that you need to complete to unlock more sub-areas. One of the new quest chain is called ‘Prelude to the Night Vigil’, and this guide will help you locate it while also providing the detailed guides on how to complete it.

Wind-Stirred Ripples

You will start this quest right after reaching the spot above (you can see the quest icon on the map), north of the first Statue of the New Moon you reach in the Voidsea Outlook sub-region. Once you talk to the two Ratnik, you will get the first quest in the Prelude to the Night Vigil Quest Chain in Genshin Impact.

From the previous spot where you start the quest, head to Piramida in the northeast. Piramida is a small town perched atop huge platforms. Go to the location in the image above, and you can use the lift to reach Piramida. Once you arrive, go to the navigated area to continue to the next quest.

Tower of Inversion

Now that you have the mission from the NPC, you need to head to the Pillar of Embla, which is right near the Statue of the New Moon in the Wavechaser Plain. Keep following the quest navigation until you reach the shore.

Go to the Kuuhenki on the ground in the image above, and a battle will break out. Defeat the enemies to spawn a Precious Chest, and the Kuuhenki will spawn a Cottonspring Flower. You can use the flowers to reach the navigated area, which is the high tower with no entrance.

When you reach the top of the tower, a few Rifthounds will appear, and you need to defeat them. After that, just follow the quest navigation to purify the corrupted core.

Unfortunately, the quest wants to play around some more and spawns multiple Evil Eye of Blightseep. Avoid the attacks to progress the quest until Illuga comes to the rescue.

Once everything settles down and you introduce yourself to Illuga, the quest continues with you following Illuga to activate the barrier core with the help of Aedon (Illuga’s Skill), which can make certain invisible objects appear. Once you reach the first barrier core, click on Recharge to continue with the next task.

When you need to be on the opposite side, use the Moonlane to reach the center of the tower before following Aedon to the other barrier core. Don’t rush forward because there are certain rocks that will move around. Keep calm and follow Aedon slowly; it will not leave you behind.

Once the barrier cores are activated, you will meet Alia, who turned out not to be a fae but just a normal human. After a few chats, the next mission is to cleanse the corruption throughout the area and restore the barrier core. There are 3 spots, and all of them are marked on the map. Go to each location and defeat the enemies there.

Cleanse the corruption and restore the barrier core (southeast of Pillar of Embla)

For the first spot, there will be 2 Abyss Mages. Defeat them, and the unstable ground will crack and drop you down a little bit.

Down there, there will be Abyssal Riftlines blocking the fragment of the shattered barrier core. Use Spireblooms, which can be found nearby, to unleash Kuuvahki lightblades and sever the weak nodes of these riftlines. When the Riftlines are destroyed, more enemies will appear, and you need to defeat them, too.

Once all enemies are defeated, go back to the fragment, pick it up (by pressing T), and throw it to the main body. This will complete the first of three barrier cores.

The second spot is as simple as before, but note that there are two fragments that were blocked by the Abyssal Riftlines that you need to return to the barrier core.

Take the Spireblooms and destroy the first Abyssal Riftlines in front of the barrier core. Pick up the fragment (by pressing T) and throw it to the core.

Two Rifthounds will appear, and you need to defeat them first before you can use the Spireblooms to destroy the Abyssal Riftlines on the barrier core. Remember that you can change the Kuuvahki lightblade’s direction (vertical or horizontal) by pressing E when holding to aim.

Do the same to the second fragment on the back of the barrier core and pick it up. Return it to the barrier core, and you will complete the puzzle in this area.

Cleanse the corruption and restore the barrier core (northeast of Pillar of Embla)

The most northern spot is located in a cave, so go to the location above to see the entrance. The entrance is being blocked by Abyssal power, and you need to create a line of Kuuvahki energy using the Solaris Core and Nycalyx to unleash a powerful Kuuvahki energy that will destroy the Abyssal power.

First, go to this spot above, pick up the Mandragoras, and put them down in between the Suffused object that looks like trapeziums and the Nycalyx (in front of the entrance).

Now, go to the spot above with the Mysterious Slothsheep. Pick up the Glimmerfruit beside the Slothsheep and throw it to the Abyssal Fog Barriers that were surrounding the Slothsheep.

Absorb the ‘Seed Core’ from the Slothsheep (by pressing T), and you can direct its movement. Make sure to let the Slothsheep follow you correctly (especially when there’s a bump on the road) until it reaches the in between of the two Suffused objects. Wait for a few seconds so the Kuuvahki energy will explode and shatter the abyssal power that was blocking the cave entrance.

Inside the cave, the puzzle to restore the barrier core is not so complicated. Simply get the Intricate Bloom right below the core, and all the Abyssal Riftlines will disappear. Then, you can pick up the two fragments and throw them back to the barrier core.

After all three barrier cores are fixed, use the Moonlanes to reach the top of the tower again to touch the core and meet Alia once more to complete this quest.
