The team behind the Re:Monster anime just confirmed that the series is getting a season 2. The announcement went live on Thursday, and fans of the goblin-turned-battle-machine story have something new to look forward to.
Returning cast includes:
- Takuya Satou as Aporou
- Kenta Hosoda as Minokichi
- Ai Kakuma as Kanami
- Kana Ueda as Asue
- Mai Kanno as The Redhead
- Nene Hieda as Rubilia
The first season dropped back in April 2024. Crunchyroll streamed the show weekly in Japan with an English dub going up the same day.
Re:Monster started as a light novel by Kogitsune Kanekiru. The story was first posted on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō site, before AlphaPolis picked it up and released the first official volume in 2012.
By 2017, nine volumes had been published, with Yamaada handling illustrations. Hanashi Media is releasing the novels in English.
There’s also an ongoing manga by Haruyoshi Kobayakawa. AlphaPolis publishes it monthly and is putting out volume 13 this week. Seven Seas is handling the English side, with volume 12 coming in January 2026.
The manga follows Tomokui Kanata, who dies young but gets a second shot at life in a fantasy world… as a goblin named Rou. Eating monsters to steal their powers becomes his main grind, and it’s as wild as it sounds.
The series even spawned a mobile game back in 2016 on iOS and Android, letting players live out their own goblin adventure.
