Square Enix just dropped a new gameplay introduction trailer for Octopath Traveler 0, a prequel to the main series.
The game launches on December 4, 2025 for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Windows.
The trailer shows off the seriesโ signature HD-2D visuals, a return of the Break and Boost battle system, and some new mechanics that make combat and customization more flexible.
Players can form parties of up to eight travelers, swap front and back rows during fights, and recruit from more than 30 characters across Orsterra.
The story begins in the town of Wishvale during the Day of Reverence festival. Just as peace is being celebrated, the town is attacked and burned. From there, the protagonist must choose between revenge or restoration, with their journey shaped by that decision.
Hereโs a breakdown of what to expect:

| Release Date | December 4, 2025 |
| Platforms | Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X |
