Alice is one of those names Genshin Impact players have heard for years without seeing her face. That changed with the Nod Krai reveal.
Hoyoverse finally put her in front of us, and the community went wild.
Who is Alice in Genshin Impact?
Alice is Klee’s mother and an elder of the Hexenzirkel. She goes by codename “A” and is the author of the Teyvat Travel Guide.
Most of Mondstadt’s quirky lore and “travel tips” come straight from her. She is known as a legendary adventurer, inventor, polymath, and witch who seems to dabble in just about everything. Magic, alchemy, engineering, medicine, even puzzles.
If it exists in Teyvat, Alice probably tinkered with it at some point.
What She Has Done in the Story?
Alice has always been present in the background. She was responsible for the Golden Apple Archipelago events, setting up the islands as a summer playground for Klee and her friends.
She tested Albedo with the Hexenzirkel Trial, disguised herself during quests, and left behind puzzles, letters, and recordings that drive the narrative forward.
Notice Albedo refers to her as “Aunt Alice”.
This means she’s closely familiar with Rhinedottir (Gold) who is Albedo’s creator and also one of the Five Sinners of Khaenri’ah.
Even without showing up in person, Alice has been moving pieces across the board for years.
Her Power and Reputation
Albedo describes Alice as almost omnipotent. Diluc points out that only someone like her could pull off the Golden Apple Archipelago. Mona’s master is considered her rival.
These aren’t small names, and it shows how much weight Alice carries in the lore.
She is tied to the very edges of Teyvat itself, with Skirk calling her the “Sustainer of the World’s Borders.” When someone in the story starts talking like that, you know they’re on a whole different level.
The Reveal in Nod-Krai
The “Song of the Welkin Moon: Moonlit Ballad of the Night” teaser finally gave players a clear look at Alice.
She wears a wide witch hat with her Pyro Vision hanging from it.
After years of speculation, she was introduced alongside Varka, Lauma, Flins, Aino, and other long-awaited characters during the big Nod Krai reveal in the 5.8 update. Hoyoverse made sure the moment hit hard.
We’ve been waiting five years for this one.
Why Alice Matters in Teyvat
Alice is not just Klee’s mom. She connects different parts of Genshin Impact’s history. She is a thread tying together the witches of the Hexenzirkel, Mondstadt’s lore, and the mysterious creations across Teyvat.
We still don’t know who she really is, what’s she’s doing as Teyvat’s borders are flimsy now, and the connection she has to the Heavenly Principles.
And now that she has stepped out of the shadows, it feels like the real story is only just beginning.
When is Alice Coming Out in Genshin Impact?
Alice is going to finally have her moment when Genshin Impact 6.0 drops on September 10, 2025.
